Sculptural Tadelakt Vessel

Muted Sage

H 120 cm x 43 cm

The piece

An exploration of silent volumes and ancestral minerality. Characterized by an elongated, tapered presence and an organic, pinch-folded aperture, this monolithic vessel balances disciplined geometry with fluid tension.

Hand-finished using the traditional Moroccan Tadelakt lime-plaster technique, its surface is hand-polished to reveal a tactile, stone-like skin punctuated by subtle tonal shifts and raw micro-textures.

Liberated from purely decorative utility, the piece asserts itself as an architectural sculpture that captures shifting light and anchors space through material honesty.

Key Features (Material & Structural Specifications)

  • Sculptural Monolith: An elongated, tapering silhouette crowned with an asymmetrical pinched opening, balancing formal discipline with soft, organic tension.

  • Ancestral Mineral Skin: Finished with hand-troweled and polished Moroccan lime-plaster (Tadelakt), yielding a smooth, stone-like texture with natural mineral movement.

  • Muted Mineral Patina: A subtle, chalky sage-green hue with organic depth that reacts subtly to directional ambient light.

  • Singular Character: Each vessel is crafted by hand; the inherent variations in contour, plaster density, and tone make every execution an authentic one-of-a-kind work.

Care

Dust regularly with a clean, dry, lint-free microfiber cloth. For light cleaning, wipe gently with a soft cloth barely dampened with pure lukewarm water and dry immediately. Never use abrasive pads, chemical detergents, solvents, or acidic substances, as these will permanently strip the natural soap-and-lime seal. Intended strictly for indoor use in a climate-controlled setting; shield from direct thermal vents, harsh outdoor exposure, and standing water.

Design

Fatallah Benaouidat

Franco-Moroccan designer

His pieces are not reproduced. They are handed down.

Fatallah Benaouidat draws in France. His pieces take shape in Morocco. Between the two shores, a conversation that has never fallen silent.

From modern art he keeps the line that is enough. From literature, the weight of every word. And from the houses of the land of his roots, a silence he slips into every piece, one that turns an object into a work.

Each drawing then travels to seven artisans, from one end of Morocco to the other, keepers of gestures older than he is. He gives the form. They give it weight, grain, light: what no drawing can do.

The artisans

Seven artisans, across Morocco.

Casarin works with a close circle of seven master artisans, each devoted to one material and one gesture. Lime, earth, glaze, wood, leather and glass: every piece passes through their hands, at their pace.
